The Bears Behind the Brand
Husbands. Co-founders. Builders of bold, size-inclusive fashion.
Sticky Sweet Bears is their love letter to queer joy, community, experiences, and the bold beauty of being seen—exactly as you are.
Our Story
Born from Frustration. Built with Love.
Sticky Sweet Bears started with two Bears—a big and tall Bear (Jason) and his little Bear (Edwin)—trying to find something to wear that felt like them. For Pride. For a vacation. For karaoke night. Movie night. Fire pit hangs. Brunch. All the in-between moments where queerness shows up and deserves to be seen.
They’d spent years wading through rainbow-washed basics, boxy cuts, and so-called “size inclusive” lines—where the 3X barely fit Edwin’s L/XL frame let alone Jason's.
The Moment That Changed Everything
The turning point? A last-minute shopping trip before vacation. Jason found a few things, headed toward the fitting room—and was stopped. Right there in the store, a staffer warned him not to bother. The clothes were “European sized,” they said. They were saving him from disappointment.
That moment stirred up a lot—humiliation, anxiety, frustration. Feelings Jason had carried for years, trying to find fashion that expressed who he was, instead of settling for what happened to be available.
And while the staffer may have meant well, that moment lit a fire in Edwin. If others could build a business—or a side hustle—while leaving parts of the community out, he was ready to do better. Not just for Jason. For all of us.
Our Threads, Our Purpose
That fire didn’t just spark a brand—it sparked a belief. A belief that queer fashion could do more, hold more, mean more. We know we’re not the only ones doing this work, and we’re grateful for the others who are paving the way. Sticky Sweet Bears is our contribution: campy, art-forward, expressive fashion made for every body.
Edwin and Jason design with purpose—to connect, to celebrate, to hold space for the community, for lived experience, and for the memory and meaning queer life deserves.
They’re always learning, building the business, expanding product offerings and size ranges, deepening storytelling, and creating something joyful with the community—not just for it.
This isn’t just fashion. It’s a love letter—with a great big bear hug.
